So I really wanted to be able to share my Christmas looks with you, but unfortunately the only photo we snapped was the one I shared on Christmas of my little sister and I before church on Christmas Eve.  Let’s just say my parents aren’t the best photographers, my house was full of guests and last night on our Christmas date, we decided we just wanted to enjoy our time and leave pictures for later this week. Anyway, here is a look at what I wore (not the exact items) but the overall general idea of each outfit.

“DO” the LOOK

Christmas Eve:  I was really looking to do something different for the main holidays because I have been switching between three to four dresses that are red or sparkly.  This is exactly why I went for separates in all three outfits, and I didn’t want to make Christmas Eve, my family’s big celebration night, the typical.  I went for a jewel-embellished top with a beige pencil skirt and strapped pumps (my favorite pair of all time from Steve Madden Luxe!)  With some rhinestone teardrop earrings and my favorite bright red lipstick from YSL, I still felt completely in the Christmas spirit without wearing red or green clothing.  This look is simple to do, just stick to a neutral palette and add the bright red lip.  It is a great look for work as well!
Christmas Day:  I was driving back to Minneapolis with my grandma and my sister’s boyfriend, so I wanted to be comfy but still feel Christmas-y.  The combination of my thrifted green and black pinstripe blouse with a flowy, high-waisted skirt and knee highs was great for meeting my goal 🙂  The final touch to make me feel more glamorous in an outfit that could otherwise be fairly casual was a statement necklace.  A looser blouse, flowly skirt and knee highs are the main items to mimic this look, while throwing on certain pieces of jewelry or the type of pumps or shoes you choose could really take this look a lot of different ways.
Christmas Date:  I have my go-to Christmas date dress, but it is now quite a few years old.  I wanted to reinvent the date look I have usually gone for and really dress up for a nice dinner downtown.  With a gold-tint short sleeve blouse with details on the backside and my favorite silky bandage black skirt, it was perfect!  I also wanted to make sure I wore my red heels somewhere in the mix of these events, and date night was perfect.  Red heels really add some sass to any outfit, and they worked perfectly!  A detailed, sparkly top, slimming, form-fitting skirt and a pop of color on the heels is the main way to capture this overall look.  I added a pearl, gold chain necklace, sequin clutch and coral lip gloss for the final touches on my look.
