Spring Into Capes

- Outfits

cap + red pants

I have always wanted to purchase a cape, so when the opportunity came along to review one from TBDress I was very excited! Unfortunately this one is not very well made, and the black lining looks very cheap up close. The fabric is pretty stretchy though, so at least it is comfy. Sometimes you get lucky with lower-priced items, this time around it did not pay off.

Anyway, I absolutely LOVE this weather. I could soak it up all day except that I’m in the office from 8-5. I really want to purchase this tote in black and coral as well, but still have my eye on a tote like this. For now, this style definitely works, and I love the striped inside! I am hoping this weather continues for GOOD, but not jinxing it 🙂 Have a good Tuesday!

Cape c/o TBDress (Not the best quality, black lining looks cheap) :: Similar style here and here

Red Cropped Pants, JCPenney :: Similar here, here and here

Sandals, ShoeDazzle :: VERY similar here

Tote, JustFab (also in black and coral) :: Similar here and here

Sunglasses, Target

Indeed…. it is a bummer! I might wear it a couple more times, but it is going to wear out so quickly! I was sad, because it is gorgeous and looks much better in photos than in real life 😉

Awww, I hate it when you’re so excited to get something, and then it doesn’t live up to your expectations + is poorly made. 🙁 However, you look lovely! Digging the red skinnies, for sure!

I’m so sorry you weren’t able to make it to Go Blog this weekend in KC- you were missed! Maybe next year? 🙂

Yeah, I know it is a bummer! AND DOUBLE BUMMER on the GBS thing. I really missed out I feel, but at least I got to use my flight credit towards another trip I’m taking this summer and had a good weekend with my bf and puppy! 🙂 NEXT YEAR for sure!

This is one of the first times I’ve seen a blogger give negative feedback about a piece they were given to review. I really love the honesty, because sometimes I wonder about that.

The cape really does look cute in the photos, but sometimes the camera is good at hiding flaws.

Awww thanks Shanna! That means a lot… because honestly after taking these pictures I was sad because I thought the pants looked better than what I saw in the photos… but I’m pretty sure that’s just me being super critical, which is dumb. So thank you for reaffirming that I need to stop looking at myself in such a harsh light!

You look great, and I love the bold pants. I have this exact cape from another company, but have not worn it because of the lining was horrible. I exchanged it for something else.

That was a good idea! I decided to do a review, just in case others were wanting to purchase it. I was really sad 🙁 I’m sure they have some other nice things, but this cape is not one of them!

love how the cape hangs–wish it was better quality! that always happens to me when I try out a new style I tend to go cheap to try it out then save up for a good version.

That’s a good idea! I try to be careful and research before I agree to reviewing a product from a company, but it can be hard to tell! I love the quality of my OASAP products so far, so I thought perhaps this was similar. But yes, I certainly might need to include a disclaimer when accepting to work with someone that if it is not good quality or doesn’t fit me (which has happened even when I ordered a top in the largest size haha) to let them know I won’t be working with them.
