Birthday Sequins

birthday7

I found an $18 long sequin dress at Forever21 the day before my birthday (updated now in my budget post here), so I couldn’t resist buying it after trying it on and falling in love. I was hoping to find a pink dress, but hey, when you find a good deal (covered in sequins), how can you say no? Paired with some crazy earrings and glitter shoes, I was all ready to celebrate!

Shades of Pink

eshakti5

When I was contacted by eShakti to do a review on one of their products, I was thrilled! I have seen lots of blogger buddies posting outfits in their beautiful dresses, skirts, tops and jackets and couldn’t wait to try something out for myself.

Picking out something from eShakti was not an easy task though… there are tons of gorgeous options from staple jackets, to unique patterns and retro style dresses. Since the holidays were coming up, I opted for a dress that had an embellished bodice full of sparkle. This silver sparkle sheath dress  arrived at my apartment the day before a fancy dinner with my boyfriend’s boss, so I immediately decided to dazzle in this dress!

Holiday Spirit

christmas eve outfit 5

My sisters and I have a tradition of getting our nails done before getting ready for Christmas Eve mass and this year I decided to be just as festive for my Christmas Eve daytime wear as I am for my church wear!  With my new patterned pants that I scored for $7 and a vintage sequin shirt, I felt very festive for the day, full of holiday spirit.  I added a spiked bracelet to make the outfit more edgy, but my favorite accessory in these photos is my pup Emma in her Christmas sweater. Can you tell she loves the snow?! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday… back to work today for me, but another 4 days off is coming up in just a few! Happy Wednesday!

The Blog’s First Birthday!

It is the blog’s first birthday today and I can’t believe it has been a whole year since I wrote this post on this small little space online.  I honestly had  no idea what I was getting into, I just knew I wanted to share my love and passion of fashion, style, beauty and LIFE on this space.  The best part about it all has been getting to know others through their blogs and meetings some blogger buddies in real life! And I have many to thank…

Statement Bag

When it comes to fashion and your own personal style, it’s all about making a statement. Sometimes the best way to make a statement is with loud, fun accessories.  I typically do this with a statement necklace (because it simply does what you want it to… its in the name after all), but there is nothing better than making your outfit complete with a handbag. Statement handbags, such as this beautiful rustic rose sequin bag from Western Shirts , deserve the spotlight in your outfit.  Opting for neutral colors or simple structured pieces will help the bag pop and give you a clean look.

Metallic Shine

Last time I wore this shirt (seen here), I paired it with a neutral bandage skirt, so this time I wanted to add even a little more to already bright and loud patterned top, so I added a bit of metallic shine with my pencil skirt and gold sparkly flats.  It was one of those days that I just needed to wear flats to work, and this bow tie sequin gold pair along with my leo flats are my go-tos (even though you’ll usually see me in heels at work). A simple braid on both sides and I was ready for a full day at work! Happy Tuesday!!!!!

A Month of Outifts: August

A sparse outfit month for me… sorry about that! Which outfit do you like best?! Happy end of August!

Summit Tour and Friends

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share some photos from this past weekend (yet again…) ! This time I’m sharing Saturday though ;) My friend and her fiance came to visit and we had a fun day visiting the Summit Brewery in St. Paul, MN, went on a shopping trip to IKEA and then took them out downtown Minneapolis!  I decided to wear some day sequins with my printed shorts for the day and my new floral skirt from ASOS for the night! Hope you are all having a wonderful week!

Sparkle & Shine

I wore this outfit to my first Lia Sophia party, which was an absolute blast (and I bought WAY to much jewelry and drank too many margaritas!) My brooch is from Lia Sophia (seen here) and pinned on my grandmother’s vintage necklace, it went so perfectly with my pleated maxi! I recently decided why can’t I wear a little sparkle and shine to work as well?! I certainly would probably add a denim blazer or white blazer for some more sophistication, but since I don’t meet with clients and sit at my desk all day, day time sparkles with a classic pair of pumps seems appropriate to me!

Fashion Dilemma

When it comes to work wear during the transition from winter to spring, I seem to have my own fashion transition with a shift from skirts to pants.  This usually happens because I get sick and tired of wearing tights. And I know a lot of fashionistas hate wearing tights, but I really do love wearing tights… so when I get to this point I am so ready for bare legs.  Although the weather has been significantly warmer lately, I’m still not sure that it is “bare legs season” yet in Minneapolis.
