A Thousand Small Strides

May 29, 2012

This weekend was my little sister’s high school graduation and open house.  As I sat down at her commencement, I wasn’t overly excited to sit through close to 400 names being called off, but, of course, I was excited  to be there to support her and her accomplishments.  As I sat there and listened to her classmate’s (and one of her closest friends) commencement speech called “A Thousand Small Strides” I realized that this was hitting closer to home than the commencement speech I sat through for my own graduation.  A great message and important to remember that life, dreams and goals are accomplished one stride at a time, not in one big step.  Even if the end goal seems so distance, how much harder is it to make that next stride?  There have been many ups and downs since I graduated high school and even since I graduated college, and it is nice to remember that even though it is hard to not focus on the future, living in the present and taking one small stride can lead to the ultimate goals.  After a refreshing weekend with my family and boyfriend, I am excited for an amazing summer and dreaming big!

That sounds like a very mature speech from a recent high school graduate! I needed to here that lesson today, so thanks so much for sharing Rachel.

Definitely a mature speech. I have met him before and he seems far beyond his high school years and was really great to listen to. I was just so shocked that I felt so moved by a speech relating to all the high school grads and I know to many people! Glad you enjoyed the recap!

Oh my gosh, that dress is gorgeous! I love the pleated “skirt”!

The message of that speech is definitely one that applies long after high school!

Diana, yes it is and unfortunately it is sold out! I got it from Lulus.com and I know in the past sometimes they have gotten things back in stock. I have been checking back quite a bit because a friend really loved the dress! I would maybe check with them to see if it will ever be back in stock, the dress was called “Peaches N’ Cream”! Glad you enjoyed the recap, it definitely has been on my mind ever since I heard the speech!

Instagram post 2173457516695079584_46050882 [AD] The results are in, and they are RADIANT! My skin is glowing thanks to the Olay Regenerist Rentinol24 Night Moisturizer. I've been using this for the past few weeks in place of my regular nightly moisturizer and was so blown away by the immediate results. I have noticed so many differences in my skin, including my skin looking plumper, increased firmness, increased brightness, increased smoothness and reduced acne scarring. This night cream is going to be my go-to moisturizer for a LONG time. Not only do I get the great benefits of using a retinol, which by the way, I saw ZERO irritation with this product, I also get the great hydrating formula I've seen with other Olay moisturizers. If you want to learn more, check out the link in my bio - http://spr.ly/luna-114 - and be sure to watch my most recent YouTube video where I share MORE about my experience over the past few weeks with the @olay #Retinol24 line. #Olay #beautyblogger
Instagram post 2159842770729043350_46050882 #ad You guys, I'm SO excited to introduce the new @Olay Retinol24 collection! I had an amazing time opening my SKIN-MERGENCY kit (SEE the full and hilarious experience of me "breaking" into the kit of the new products on my Instagram stories!) Over the next four weeks I will be using these three new products by replacing my daily moisturizer with the Olay Regenerist Retinol24 and using both the Retinol24 serum and eye cream at night as well. Stay tuned, as I will be sharing my FULL results with these retinol products and the benefits I see. Check out my stories for even more information on my experience with retinol so far! #Retinol24 #Olay
Instagram post 2156326599509839385_46050882 I’m a couple days late, but what else is new? 🤷🏼‍♀️ Happy Anniversary babe! @rollbieck 10.14.17 was the most amazing day and I can’t believe how much has changed/we’ve done in the past two years

We said yes to this journey called life together and I’m so excited for the new adventure we’re on. I’m so fortunate to have someone who respects me and loves me tirelessly. Who let me pursue my dreams to move to the East Coast. Who supported this crazy dream of mine to move to Boston and “figure it out as we go”... who was willing to sacrifice for me to do what I want and love. Thank you endlessly for giving me this opportunity to be selfish and pursue what I love!

Marriage is also truly in good times and bad... because we’ve had plenty of unexpected and scary things happen the past couple years... but through the worst times, we found strength in each other and our love. It’s hard to understand the why sometimes, but I’ve always had you, we’ve always had each other!
.
.
So thank you again for everything! This past year has been our biggest adventure yet! I can’t wait to see what we do and accomplish this next year... love you Joe ❤️❤️❤️ #anniversary #rslbwedding #OurSobieckStory #TrampelingintoSobieck

Instagram post 2144622350014939974_46050882 I missed the obligatory 1st day of fall pic, so instead here’s my last day of September pic (because we all know tomorrow is way more important than the first day of fall 👻). This is a throwback to my leopard print style in 2015 but still rocking all the leopard print currently! Happy {almost} October 🎃 and happy fall! #leopardprint #fallstyle #wiw #rachelslookbook
