Hello lovely friends! This week has been AMAZING! Why? Because it’s Halloween week of course! I have been busy gathering the last items to put my costumes together. I have three planned – one for work, one for Friday night, and a couple’s costume with my boyfriend for Saturday night (Friday and Saturday might switch we’ll see). But anyway – I have noticed my style gradually getting more casual and I think it is influenced by my new job where I can wear jeans every day if I want to. I still wear a skirt or dress every now and again, but jeans and pants are pretty much my go-tos now. My favorite style is still classy and feminine (which normally includes dresses and skirts), but I must admit it’s been fun to try new casual styles. It is also a very functional style for Minnesota. This look is very casual and outdoorsy – and this new backpack from Fjällräven! The Fjällräven kånken backpack is perfect for taking Emma on some of the longer walks I do with her now (water, treats to get her to behave, and bowls). Fjällräven kånken recently opened THREE stores in the Twin Cities – one at the Mall of America, one in uptown Minneapolis, and one in St. Paul.

October Budget

I was in desperate need of some new booties, and have been wanting OTK boots forever, so I was so glad to pick up some boots from JustFab. I have been buying boots from JustFab for the past few years, and while they do not last as long as some other boots, most have lasted at least two, if not three years. For $39.95, I think that’s pretty dang good! I would highly recommend both of these pairs – the booties are a little snug the first time you put them on, but stretch out a bit with wear (I have wide feet). The OTKs have a zipper at the bottom, making them extremely easy to put on. I bought the wide calf version because I have wide calves (well, my legs are just wide in general).

Also this hat from Forever 21 is SO nice for the money. It reminds me of mine from Asos last year, but half the cost!

Halloween Decor for an Apartment

White Fireplace Halloween Decor

This past weekend, I finally put some finishing touches on my Halloween decor. With moving the first weekend in October, it has been a struggle to get all my clothes boxes unpacked, and I wanted to get some decorations up this year! I am still working on a few final touches to my fireplace, (maybe some real pumpkins and some cobwebs) but I like where it’s at right now. This mantel will be decorated for the next couples months too, for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
