Fall Fitness

Fitness Style

Hello everyone! I haven’t talked about fitness in awhile because I’ve been on again off again with my summer schedule. One of the reasons I love fall is because I am always so motivated to work out – the weather is perfect for walking and running outside and those long runs watching the leaves fall is simply amazing! I’ve also been updating my fitness style – I always feel better about working out when I have cute workout style. I received some new sports bras from Lily of France, and they are super chic and cute, yet give me the support I need for running, gym days, and lifting.

Work Out Schedule

I try to work out four to five times a week, plus walk the dog every night so at least I’m getting something in – but honestly I’ve only been getting about one or two work outs in a week before our recent move. That will change now that we are getting settled into the new place! On other weeks, I do as much as I can to switch it up. My fall work out schedule is heavy on running because again, I LOVE running during the fall. Perfect temps and scenery. I normally only run a couple miles, which may not seem like a lot, but it seems to work for me. On Saturdays I’ll try to run a bit further.

Sunday – Run + Abs

Monday – Lifting – Arms

Tuesday – Off

Wednesday – Run + Abs

Thursday – Lifting – Legs

Friday – Off

Saturday – Long Run (to switch it up Pilates/Yoga/OnDemand Workout)

Lily of France Cross Back Sports Bra

How chic is this bra?! I love the criss cross back, looks great with some of my open-back and mesh fitness tops.

Lily of France Pink Sports Bras

Pink Lily of France Bra

I love wearing yoga pants for any type of work out, but definitely when I’m walking Emma. This Lily of France Sports Bra in Pink is so fun and perfect for medium impact work outs – like walking the dog or doing some biking in the gym. Also, my go-to work out shoe has been the Nike Air frees, which is why I have two pairs now. I love them for running, but also love Asics.

Sports Bra

I love this next sports bra because it is reversible. The Lily of France Reversible Sports Bra will be great with a long sleeve, open back top and this scarf from Fabletics!

Reversible Sports Bra

And BOOM, here it is on the black side – still super chic and perfectly matches my leggings! Again, sporting the Nike Air style because they are my favorite sneakers right now.

What are your favorite workouts or workout styles? Tell me in the comments! I am always looking for ways to switch things up so I don’t get bored or it doesn’t feel too much like a routine. Also, if you are looking for a good smoothie recipe, this is my favorite green smoothie recipe (easy peasy)!

Skincare Talk: Proactiv Review

- Beauty, Skincare

Processed with VSCOcam with f1 preset

My skin has been on a whirlwind over the past six months. I can attribute many of my break outs to stress – from looking for a new job, to starting a new job, to attending/being in weddings, planning for my boyfriend’s 30th birthday and our most recent move, I haven’t been overly fair to my skin. I also had a few too many “fun” nights this summer where I went to bed in a full face of makeup. I promised myself I’d stop doing that by 24, but I’m 27 and you know what? It still happens. I’m not going to make a habit out of it, but now that we are moved, and I actually like my bathroom setup, I think I’ll be a bit better at taking off my makeup and washing my face! At least I hope. I also started to change out my pillowcase every night.

I haven’t used Proactiv in over five years, mostly because I was interested in trying new products and finding what works best for aging skin that’s still acne-prone. I think Proactiv has received many poor reviews due to their selling style versus how it actually works for people. I forgot how much I love this product line! It is a simple three-step process that I’ve been using in the morning now for the past couple months. I use very little face wash, toner and lotion – it goes a long way. I have only been using it in the morning though because I’ve been using Arbonne’s Re9 Advanaced Anti-Aging line at night, which I’m planning on doing a review on soon too! I have had less break outs overall since starting to use this in the morning. I only use my face brush with the cleanser once a week (the cleanser is already exfoliating, so I don’t want it to be too rough on my skin). I think the simplicity of a three-step system is helping me stick to a good routine and helping keep my skin clear. I have also noticed that my oily skin is doing better throughout the day.

It always worked well for me in high school and college, so again, I don’t know why I didn’t decide to stick to it, except I was ready to explore other options as I was growing older and living a different lifestyle. I definitely will move forward with the Proactiv three-step system in the morning.

If you to learn more about Proactiv, read more Proactiv reviews and see what others have to say about it! Or let me know if you’ve used it before and if it worked for your skin? I’m excited to do more skincare product line reviews because if your skin is like mine, you are always looking to test out anything to make it better!

Best Time of the Year!

- Holidays, Lifestyle

I can’t believe it is already October! The past year has flown by, I feel like just yesterday I was planning out my Halloween costume for 2014, and now I already need to get things together for this year. If you’ve visited here before in October, you know I’m pretty much obsessed with Halloween, which is part and/or most of the reason I love October so much (I recently saw something that said “Halloween is not a holiday, it’s a lifestyle” and I nodded in agreement), but it’s wonderful for all the other things related to fall: football, pumpkin patches, the weather, the fashion, boots, cider, walking/running outdoors, the leaves changing color, everything really.

So I wish I would have some awesome post planned for you today to say Happy October, but we’re moving to a new apartment tomorrow and things are a bit chaotic (not really, everything is great, I just have been cleaning/packing at night). I’m so excited to be moving at the beginning, not end, of October so I can decorate for Halloween! We will have a fire place again, so I can decorate similar to how I did before when I had a fireplace. I’ll certainly be sharing a decorating post soon! In the meantime, here are some of my most popular/favorite posts related to October and Halloween:
