So I kind of dropped the ball on posting today, but I still wanted to keep up with Blog Every Day in May and thought I would share a picture of my hair… which is now even more blonde! I was sitting in the salon for three hours to get my hair this light, takes a LOT of foil. Anyway, I’m really excited about the way it turned out! I think it will be fun for summer and who knows, maybe I’ll just stick with it for awhile. Here was my hair after my first trip to the salon.
And now for Blog Every Day in May. Today is the thing(s) you are most afraid of:
1. FAILURE. I think most people fear this. It is just that part of us that doesn’t want to disappoint others and mostly we don’t want to disappoint ourselves. I have felt like a failure a few times in life and even though it feels like the worst thing in the world at the time, I must admit I have also learned a lot about myself and life in these moments.
2. Losing someone close to me. After this past year, I lost two grandparents and have experienced what it is like to lose someone close to me. But I have also lost best friends and when you are used to talking to someone every day and then suddenly never talk to them again, it feels like they are dead even though they truthfully just aren’t a part of your life anymore. I am terrified of losing those closest to me because I know how painful it can be.

I worry about failure too- perfectionism takes it toll, right? Let’s just keep truckin’, one foot in front of the other, and we’ll make it. 🙂

I’m afraid of failure and rejection as well- always have been. Fortunately, since I’ve graduated a few years ago, I’ve faced PLENTY of it with the crappy job market, so I’m getting better at accepting it 🙂
ME too! Haha, I hated the rejection at first when I was applying for jobs. I wanted to be like, PLEASE just interview me, you might change your mind 😉 You know, just wanting that chance, but it definitely started to help shape me and make me a stronger person.

I agree. I am such an emotional person anyway, I mean I literally cry from some commercials. Just always been sensitive, so losing someone is just unbearable.

Yes, it is really hard. I like to believe things happen for a reason though and you have to keep going on even in some of these sad situations! It is still so scary though!

I’m loving you as a blondie! Plus with lighter hair you can probably go a bit lighter on the eyebrows too since you won’t need to match them to darker hair. The perks of blonder hair! You’ll be all set for summer with less a routine! I’m totally jealous 🙂

I have to tell you I’m loving your lighter hair! It’s gorgeous and so perfect for the Summer. Also, I know what you mean about not talking to close friends anymore. It’s a weird thing to deal with. Sometimes I still struggle with it, but I always try to remind myself of the other amazing friends I do talk to regularly. 🙂

I'm terrified of failure. I think that's what makes me such a control freak – I'm afraid of giving tasks to other people because if I'm doing it I at least know that it's going the way I want it to. It's awful! I'm also terrified of losing people close to me. And on a brighter note (literally, ha!) I love your hair!

I think a lot of people are afraid of failure…I am too. But my biggest fear right now is your second fear, loosing my grandparents. I am super close to my mom’s parents and they haven’t been in the best healthy lately. I am trying to focus on the positive and remind myself how lucky I am to have them.

rachel, I am really loving the lighter hair on you also brown looks great on you as well. Usually it takes me like 4 hours to get highlights with all the foils, it gets really hot under those things hahaha. YEah my biggest fear is to loose sb who is very close to me, I remember your loss last year, felt so sorry for you sweetie but just remember your granddaddies are with you and watching your from heaven 🙂
