December 2014 Budget

Fashion•Shopping

Cable Knit Beanie, Forever 21 – $4.00 Checkered Fuzzy Sweater, Forever 21 – $29.80 Faux Leather Dress, Forever 21 – $16.99 Total + 30% off + Free Shipping (during Xmas sales!) = $35.55 So I’m definitely a little bit late on this, but still wanted to share what I spent in December. I actually didn’t want to shop at all, but couldn’t resist 30% off at Forever 21. The sweater is super comfortable and I have always wanted a faux leather dress. Unfortunately this one is pretty short on me, but looks fine with tights. I wore it to a...

Top Tips for Finding Designer Items

Shopping

It’s easy to find cute clothes on the high street. They’re cheap, and you can look just as good in them as designer clothes. You can even find replicas of popular designer trends. But sometimes that doesn’t feel like enough. Designer clothes might be more expensive, but they’re usually better made, longer lasting, and better fitting. Plus, there’s just something about having that original piece. But you don’t have to pay full price for a beautiful designer piece. And why should you pay full price if you don’t have to? By thinking ahead and being strategic, you can track...

May 2014 Budget

Fashion•Shopping

Neon T-Shirt – JCPenney $3.99 in store! Open-Toe Booties – Melesa via ShoeDazzle $0.30 ($29 in VIP credit saved up) {Similar here and here} Blazer – Thrifted $6.99 {Not pictured} Total: $11.28 Wow, that is the least amount of money I’ve spent on clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. in any given month in YEARS! I am very proud of myself! It’s not that I don’t want to purchase things I need, but with a reduced closet and better quality items, I’m feeling like I’m loving my wardrobe more lately. Right now my focus is to save up for other things,...

October Budget

Shopping

I didn’t have very much of a plan for October, but I am happy with myself. As you can see, I got a lot of necessities (boots to get me through the winter, and a pair of black pants/black pencil skirt for work). And of course, a few great thrift finds! The above are representations of what my thrifted finds LOOK LIKE, but aren’t actually images of them. Hopefully I can share them all in some outfit posts soon! 1. Simply Vera by Vera Wang Dress (Similar) – Kohl’s $15.00 (Bought in store – couldn’t find exact online) 2....

Nyopoly

Accessories•Shopping

My first time to Mexico I was with my parents and have  heard a lot about negotiating for items from street vendors. I found a gorgeous dress I wanted and knew it would be the perfect dress for spring and summer and hopefully at a one size fits all, something I could keep and treasure forever.  I just saw my dad negotiate for a beautiful necklace for my mother, so I decided to do the same.  Can I tell you have fun and empowering it is to name your own price on something? Or at least to get...

May Budget

Shopping

Before I get into my horrible spending habits this month, let me tell you how I feel right now as I’m putting this post together (in gif form of course): Up until this month, I have stuck to my budget… well for the most part (a couple months I was over oh by $20 at most)? This month shame shame I am over by about $80. Which is almost as much as I set my budget at. Excuse me while I give myself a dirty look. My fault, I know, but still. Old habits die hard I guess. Let’s...

Head to Toe: Casual Style

Fashion•Outfits

I am very excited to share my first post featuring items from 10DollarMall.com. As you might have guessed, 10DollarMall.com is a online clothing and accessory store with items $10 or under (items for women, juniors, children and men). I am excited to collaborate with 10DollarMall.com because I believe that you don’t have to spend a lot to look great and it is nice to know there is a place out there where everything is $10 or under. 10DollarMall.com graciously gave me a gift card to pick out some items to style and I look forward to sharing future outfit posts with...

January Budget

Shopping

I can tell you right now I had quite the successful month! I set my budget at $200 (which is a little higher than I want to go the rest of the year, but it is also birthday month, so it was okay in my mind). I ended up spending LESS than my budget! (Patting myself on the back because I NEVER do that!)  For $139.03 I got two new scarves, two new blouses, a dress, a faux fur embellished vest, a pair of glitter strapped heels and a new workout outfit! Also, after laying out all of my...
