Off-Duty Style: How to Wear Nikes

Nikes on the weekend

I’m in love, I’m in love – and I don’t care who knows it! This pair of Nikes has me feeling all the things (okay that’s a bit dramatic, but surely you understand, right)? My most recent obsession (yes I know, I’m obsessed with everything) are Nike sneakers. I have always loved the look of them, but I didn’t always have a reason to own more than a couple pairs for working out. Now that I can wear more casual looks to work, I love the idea of having more pairs that stay “nice” for casual wear vs. destroying them while running outside or using the elliptical in the gym.

This weekend, I loved the idea of pairing them with my new faux suede leggings from Liverpool Jeans Company. I reviewed another pair of jeans from them in this post, and have to say I’m equally as impressed with their leggings. Super comfortable and great for that off-duty look. With a black t-shirt and over-sized jacket, it is definitely going to be a go-to weekend look from now on. Aside from this pair, I have my eye on this blush pair (as mentioned here), this gold, reptile skin pair, and this pair in white/black/brown.

P.S. Love Ray-Bans? Love the ability to switch out for another awesome pair of sunglasses any time  you want?! Join the Endless Program for DITTO and use code RACHELSLOOK for one month free (trust me, you are going to want to try this out)!

Minnesota Fall Style: How to Be Stylish & Comfortable

Green Jacket + Jeans + Fall Booties

Now that the weather is back to where I like it (that’s 70 or below, anything above and I start to sweat – seriously), I’ve been starting to layer again (hello cute and light layering jacket) and wearing all of my favorite go-to boots that are equally comfortable and chic. These Vionic boots with Orthoheel technology are the exact match of what I want. The cinnamon color is just gorgeous, and so rich to match many of the fall and winter colors in my wardrobe. These boots were also recently featured in Oprah mag, so you know they are a winner. These booties will be along on my fall and winter Minnesota journey, and who knows what that means this year. Last winter was kind (still too long), but kind in comparison to some of the winters I’ve experienced here. But, with a little help from my bootie friends, I think I’ll be just fine!

The Girl in the Pink Scarf

pink scarf, chambray top, black skirt

I’m still struggling with work outfits… which is really silly considering I can basically wear what I want. I think the issue is that I started off at a job where I was required to be wearing a suit every day, or pretty close. Then I went to a business casual environment, but still got pretty dressed up. Now, it is casual, but can really be whatever I want, but I still get confused. I have yet to wear heels, but have worn wedges a couple times, I would just feel silly being one of the only ones in heels. But then again, who cares? Right? Anyway, I swear I’m going somewhere with this.

Although this outfit isn’t necessarily anything special, I love it because I feel like for me it is a good mix of casual and just a little bit of dressy. I have never been a wear jeans every day type of person. I wore dresses and skirts in high school and college, so trying to wear jeans every day just isn’t for me. But put the denim on top, and add a swingy little black skirt on the bottom? Yes, totally me. Add a pink scarf with some tassels, and overall I feel like it adds just the right touch. So yesterday, I was the the girl in the pink scarf. I recently just watched Confessions of a Shopaholic, which is where this post title came from – also I’m so glad I don’t have to freeze my credit cards to keep myself from shopping (or do I)? Stay tuned to find out in my August budget post on Friday! In other news, these Karen Walker sunglasses are currently being borrowed from DITTO through their Endless Program – that means rent your favorite designer sunglasses for just $19 a month! You can sign up here to get your first rental month for free!

And FINALLY, it’s Emma! She hasn’t been in one of my posts in forever, so she tagged along (and had about 10 dogs walk by us while taking photos, she was very distracted and wanted to make friends)! And’s its National Dog Day, had no idea. Love the way things work out sometimes. I should re-title my post to National Dog Day or something? There are so many “national” days now they are hard to keep up with!
