Spring Into Capes

Outfits

I have always wanted to purchase a cape, so when the opportunity came along to review one from TBDress I was very excited! Unfortunately this one is not very well made, and the black lining looks very cheap up close. The fabric is pretty stretchy though, so at least it is comfy. Sometimes you get lucky with lower-priced items, this time around it did not pay off. Anyway, I absolutely LOVE this weather. I could soak it up all day except that I’m in the office from 8-5. I really want to purchase this tote in black and coral...

Patterned Sweater

Outfits

This open-face cardigan has been a great addition for this winter. The pattern is fun, but is easily paired with a lot in my closet, both for work and the weekend. I wore this outfit last Saturday, finally putting together a shorts + tights look even though it wasn’t the best choice for the weather (hence the indoor photos). I hope you had a great weekend, and are having a good Monday! As good as Mondays get anyway! Sweater & Shorts, c/o Oasap (Similar & Similar) T-shirt, JCrew (Similar) Tights, Target (Similar) Heels, JustFab (Similar) Necklace, Chloe & Isabel...

New Purchases

Fashion•Shopping

(sandals, patterned pants, red cropped pants, t-strap mary janes) Well I have been doing some shopping already in March (whoops… can’t say no to some of the great deals), but this month I’m approaching shopping a little differently. I have clothing needs and wants (I REALLY need some new work-appropriate pants. I REALLY wanted a new strappy, fun pair of nude sandals), but I am trying to already plan how to fit these items in with what I already own. I always try to think of this, but it rarely ever happens. Sometimes that means my new items...

January Budget 2014

Fashion•Shopping

HELLO! It is already January 31st. Although it has felt like a long month (thanks to the lovely weather), it also flew by. Got back from Vegas late Tuesday night and have literally just been trying to catch up on life. Honestly, we didn’t really take many pictures, just some I captured on Instagram, so I probably won’t have much to share here! I didn’t even get a full picture in my gold sequin dress! FAIL. Epic fail. Oh well, my boyfriend and I had good time and that’s all that matters! Onto the January budget. I didn’t do...

What to Wear for Thanksgiving

Fashion

Still have no idea what to wear for Thanksgiving? I put together some ideas based on how casual or dressy your Thanksgiving might be this year. Usually I try to dress up a casual look (like the chambray and maxi skirt look below). Other casual looks include a dress with a scarf, socks and flat boots or skinny jeans, a sweater and loafers. If you are attending a fancy Thanksgiving dinner or buffet, or hosting your own, why not try a fitted dress with heels. And if you are like me, I will probably just change into sweats after...

4th of July Outfit

Outfits

Every 4th of July, I try to put together a new red, white and blue outfit with pieces I already own in my closet. I seem to own a lot of different items in these colors, or variations, so it is really fun! (See other red, white and blue outfits here, here, here and here). This year I wanted to make my Asos skater skirt the certain of attention. This white skirt has been a new favorite in my closet and I always want to wear it (previously seen here and here).  Along with my old cutout striped top...

Teal + Pink

Outfits

Ever since I had a teal and pink soccer uniform in third grade I have loved these two colors together. So when this teal blazer arrived from Oasap, I knew exactly what pair of heels I would pair it with first. Since colored blazers are a part of my closet I’m trying to fill, I am definitely looking forward to more ways to style this and hope to add even more colored blazers to my wardrobe! Chunky

Outfits

Today I am teaming up with Amy from Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins! Be sure to check out her post here! I am in love with this shoe trend because chunky heels, whether or not I like to admit it, are much easier to stand in. Granted, these heels are pretty tall, but still fairly easy to walk in surprisingly. There are tons of ways to style chunky heels, but when I saw this pin on Pinterest I knew I had to recreate it and that it would be the perfect look with my Jeffrey Campbell snakeskin print heels....
