What to Wear for Thanksgiving

Fashion

Still have no idea what to wear for Thanksgiving? I put together some ideas based on how casual or dressy your Thanksgiving might be this year. Usually I try to dress up a casual look (like the chambray and maxi skirt look below). Other casual looks include a dress with a scarf, socks and flat boots or skinny jeans, a sweater and loafers. If you are attending a fancy Thanksgiving dinner or buffet, or hosting your own, why not try a fitted dress with heels. And if you are like me, I will probably just change into sweats after...

Moments That Take Your Breath Away

Outfits

When I realized I have seen family I don’t see very often including my aunts, uncles, cousins,  sisters, mom, dad, grandma and bf’s family all within two weeks. That never happens. How lucky am I? When the bf and I tore up the dance floor at my friend’s wedding to my favorite Lady Gaga song “Bad Romance” and he picked me up off the floor, twirled me around and dipped me at the end of the song. Man he’s good on the dance floor. Man I love Lady Gaga tunes. Yesterday morning when I realized (while I was all...

Gingham at Work

Outfits

I wore this to work yesterday! Really wanted to incorporate my gingham in an appropriate work outfit, so wore an under tank, black skirt and my nude Steve Madden heels.  I have a relaxing weekend coming up and probably being lame to get caught up on laundry 😉 At least today my group at work is taking a half day to go out to eat and play some mini golf as a thank you for the work we do… yay! Love fun days at work! I hope you all have a wonderful Friday and a great weekend!

Lilac Jungle

Career•Outfits

Isn’t it funny how somedays you have a lot to say about your outfit because the pieces tell a story and other days it is literally just: this is what I threw on and I liked the way it looked? Well I hope you don’t mind that I want to share a lot of information about my experience with my clothes (like yesterday’s coral dress post) and somedays it really is pretty simple.  One of my goals for the new year to help spice up what I wear to work is to mix prints and colors together.

a’la Mode

Outfits

Pin It Perhaps you have seen me wearing this striped turtleneck too much since I started my blog (this is the third time, you can see the other outfits here and here), but I love turtlenecks and I love stripes so this piece is just one of those staples in my closet that I love to layer under and over clothing as well as with lots of jewelry. This outfit was inspired by a feature in Lucky Magazine (pages 36-38) where singer-song writer Alison Sudol remixed her striped shirt and when I saw it layered underneath a white dress with a...

Neon Details: Part 1

Outfits

So today I wanted to share three outfits incorporating neon yellow… neon yellow is by far my favorite of the neons as you will be able to tell in these photos… I have a few other neons in my closet, but these yellow pieces (and a neon yellow scarf I have) are my favorites. I am calling this post Neon Details: Part 1 because this is my take on more winterized outfits as far as the colors and the layering/tights. Neon Details: Part 2 will be coming sometime this spring when I can step outside with bare legs and...

A Bouquet of Lilies

Outfits

Pin It As I’ve said previously, I draw inspiration from many sources and so far I’ve shown you my celebrity inspirations from Whitney Port and Hilary Duff, but today I am showing you inspiration from what I believe is the most inspirational source out there: nature.  From color combinations, to the textures and the way things move, nature, in my opinion, is where all great art comes from.  And since fashion is my way of being creative in everyday life, I will always be inspired by nature’s beauty.  This look, which is more colorful than many of the outfits...

Inspired Style: Metallic Skirt – Hilary Duff

Outfits

My second inspiration post is from Hilary Duff… who was looking chic in a bandage metallic skirt and oxford pumps. When I first saw this ensemble I thought it was so simple, yet so cute… and a great look to mimic at the office (with a metallic pencil skirt rather than a mini bandage)! I love the simple black “school girl” cardigan, the shimmer of the metallic and the pop of the black and white oxford pump. The only thing I changed was wearing a metallic pencil skirt (that I got on sale at New York & Company after...
