Leopard Layers

Outfits

I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with Front Row Shop, who sent me some basics to review. This long-sleeve navy t-shirt is just what I’ve been looking for to add to my weekend wardrobe.  It is extremely soft and sheer, so perfect for layering, and it has thumb holes. I used to think thumb holes were strange and annoying, but I’ve ordered a couple tops from Ellie for working out that have them, and after wearing those, I now love thumb holes! I simply roll up the ends of the sleeves when I don’t want...

Babette Opening on 50th & France!

Shopping

Local Minnesotans, and everyone for that reason, I am excited to let you know about the opening of Babette on 50th & France! If you live in the area, I’m sure you already know about the 50th & France area, with lots of shopping and cute restaurants. If you haven’t been to this area of Edina, get over there ASAP. Babette has several locations across the US, with its home in the San Francisco Bay area. The brand incorporates so much texture into its unique pieces, that really make a woman feel special. I mean check out the pleating...

What to Wear for Thanksgiving

Fashion

Still have no idea what to wear for Thanksgiving? I put together some ideas based on how casual or dressy your Thanksgiving might be this year. Usually I try to dress up a casual look (like the chambray and maxi skirt look below). Other casual looks include a dress with a scarf, socks and flat boots or skinny jeans, a sweater and loafers. If you are attending a fancy Thanksgiving dinner or buffet, or hosting your own, why not try a fitted dress with heels. And if you are like me, I will probably just change into sweats after...

How to Wear It: Teal Infinity Scarf

Fashion

Disclosure: I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper insights study for Collective Bias and their client. #ThisisStyle #cbias  One of the most exciting times of the year is finally here! I must admit though, as much as I love giving my friends and family gifts, sometimes I get a bit jealous of what I’m giving them (I can’t help it, I am a self-confessed shopaholic). In fact, most of my Black Fridays are spent shopping for others AND for myself (looking for some 2013...

Our World Boutique & A Giveaway!

Shopping

Today’s post is sponsored by Our World Boutique.  Although this is a sponsored post, all opinions are 100% my own. I am excited to share a great online boutique with you that fits with any budget! I love boutiques. There is no doubt about it — when I travel I am always looking to find unique stores and boutiques I can’t find anywhere else. The great thing about online shopping is that I can do this on a daily basis now, without ever leaving home. I was introduced to Our World Boutique a couple weeks ago and couldn’t believe...

January Budget

Shopping

I can tell you right now I had quite the successful month! I set my budget at $200 (which is a little higher than I want to go the rest of the year, but it is also birthday month, so it was okay in my mind). I ended up spending LESS than my budget! (Patting myself on the back because I NEVER do that!)  For $139.03 I got two new scarves, two new blouses, a dress, a faux fur embellished vest, a pair of glitter strapped heels and a new workout outfit! Also, after laying out all of my...

Halloween Happy Hour

Outfits

Well it is that time of year when you can wear orange and black together without feeling like you are dressing for Halloween! Why? Well because it is Halloween time right now… yay! I love the idea of orange and black together and what a better time to pull out your favorite black and orange pieces than now?! I am taking today off to bake and get ready for our 2nd Annual Halloween party tomorrow (called Spookify) and I wore this last night to happy hour with the bf.  Sometimes there is nothing better than an outfit with a...

You’re the Apple of My Eye

Outfits

I had an amazing weekend… Friday night and Saturday were a bit “lame” as I stayed in and cleaned to prepare for our 2nd annual Halloween party.  I spent 5 hours in the kitchen/pantry area alone.  Yeah there was some dusting and re-organizing to be done that took me quite awhile.  Anyway, we headed to the apple orchard on Sunday and I got to pick two bags of apples (and completely acted like a kid again… the bf was glad we didn’t bring the pup along because he felt like he was taking care of me… haha).  Looks like...

Class Classics

Outfits

It’s official… my little sister starts college today! I am so excited for her (and very jealous haha) and hope she has a wonderful first day at Iowa State.  This weekend I went back to some of the classic pieces I would wear to class end of August and throughout fall.  These included flouncy skirts, casual tops and a scarf, statement necklace or hair pieces, and of course a pair of sunglasses!  Simple, smart pieces always made it easy for me to get ready in the morning.  Anyway, clearly not wearing these pieces to class anymore, but that doesn’t...
