Not much to report this month! I lost my two faux fur scarves during our move, so I wanted a new one and decided to go for a faux fur snood. I also recently discovered Modern Citizen and have fallen in love with every collection! They have a lot of modern, professional looking pieces that I would love to add to my closet. I have been looking for a quilted faux leather skirt and really loved the side details on this one. I hope to be sharing it on the blog soon!
Snood – Asos, on sale $17.88 (whoot whoot for free shipping!) (Similar here and here)
Skirt – Modern Citizen, $71.20 (with 20% discount I got because I at first ordered a shirt, but it was out of stock, so they offered me a code) It is $79.00 without shipping. (Similar here and here)
Total: $89.08
Yay! I finally spent under $100. I am really trying to focus on building up my wardrobe with basics again (I have had to get rid of a lot of old jeans, t-shirts, tanks) before I buy any trendy pieces. Although I cannot wear this skirt to work, I think it will be a good staple for me to have in my closet for weekends, date nights and happy hours with my girls! And let’s talk about this winter, shall we? Just kidding. Let’s not. It’s depressing and I am only looking ahead. My faux fur snood keeps me warm, end of story.

March 1, 2014 at 11:18 PMGreat job staying under your budget this month and also picking timeless pieces! I am trying to do the same thing and stick to staples instead of super trendy. But I still ended up obliterating my budget this month and I’m not too pleased with myself. Oh well, hoping March is better =)

March 2, 2014 at 8:25 AMThat skirt is FIERCE! Now I’m wondering if I could get away with wearing quilted leather to work if I styled it right!

March 3, 2014 at 9:24 PMGreat job Rachel! I went NUTS in February, but it’s my birth month. I spent 1,300. BUT it was on investment pieces and I only used tips! I’ve been making $100-200 a night on Friday and Saturdays, and about $100 total during the week. Since it’s tips it is not a part of my regular pay so I don’t consider it bill money. I bought the Urban Decay make up pallets, and a bunch of handbags that I can’t wait to wear on the blog!
