Hi! My name is Rachel Sobieck and I want to welcome you and say thank you for visiting my blog, Rachel’s Lookbook! Rachel’s Lookbook is a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog focused on enjoying all the luxuries of life without breaking the bank. It all started with a flair for frugal fashion but transformed into a space that focuses on being budget conscious in all areas of life, while still enjoying the best life has to offer. While Rachel’s Lookbook has grown and morphed over the years, it will always first and foremost be a fashion and personal style blog. Why? Because clothing is a part of everyone’s daily lives, no matter how you look at it. From work to working out, choosing what you wear is a form of art where you can choose to express your unique self.
I believe the MOST important thing a person can do every day is walk out of the door with confidence. No matter where you’re headed, incorporating who you are in what you wear is vital and confidence is key. Here, my goal is to help curate confidence so you can live your best life!
How Rachel’s Lookbook Started
About a year out of college and into my second job, I was ready to do some freelance writing on the side, especially interested in writing about fashion. Instead, with the help of loved ones, Rachel’s Lookbook launched in November of 2011. Starting a fashion and beauty blog gave me a space to share what I love on my own time.
It quickly became my favorite free-time activity – a place where I could share my shoe obsession, passion for finding the best deals and just talk about life in general. I have met some fabulous friends through blogging – and swear it is the best reason to start and pursue a blog.
FAQ
How did you become interested in fashion?
I was very shy about fashion and trying new styles for most of my life – imagine your typical teenage girl wearing t-shirts, jean skirts and flip flops. I really started to venture out in what I wore my senior year of high school, and after watching a full season of Project Runway during a marathon the summer before college, I became obsessed. The obsession grew in college, when I really felt free to express my personality through what I wore. I also had a bad habit of flipping through old issues of Vogue during study breaks at Parks Library.
What are your favorite stores?
Honestly, anytime I can make it to Goodwill, Salvation Army or a quirky little vintage store, I’m THERE! I love finding a good deal and it’s amazing what people donate to thrift stores. I am also always on the lookout for vintage clothes, they are so well made and classic, I love to find vintage items while thrifting or antiquing. And if I need something new, I love Nordstrom & Nordstrom Rack, Revolve, Asos, Chicwish and Shopbop.
Sponsorships & Affliates
All endorsements, gifts, guest posts, etc. are clearly stated out in the specific post. In outfit posts, an item will be marked with c/o (courtesy of). This means I was sent the item for free from a brand or store to wear and review on the blog. I only work with brands I feel truly fit with my personal style or lifestyle, and all opinions on products are 100% my own.
I use affiliate links, such as rewardStyle and ShopStyle and may earn up to 25% commission on items if a purchase is made on the site by clicking on my links.
