Patterned Wrap

Fashion•Outfits

This gorgeous patterned wrap has just a hint of metallic in it, making it perfect for this time of year. It gives it just enough of the holiday feel without being too obvious. I am also always am looking for ways to add color to my wardrobe during the winter, so this wrap is just what I’ve been looking for! Of course, I couldn’t go through my weekend without my trusty felt fedora – it could be the fact my roots are awful because I haven’t been to the hair salon since August (whoops). Anyway, make sure to check out...

Floral Pants + New Hair: Camille Albane Paris in Maple Grove

Beauty•Fashion•Hair•Outfits

Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit a brand new salon in Maple Grove, MN, Camille Albane Paris. I was pretty tired from a night + day at the fair, so I grabbed my favorite “pj pants” for the appointment. I was scheduled for a balayage and a pedicure. I have heard of balayage before but never considered asking for or getting this type of color in my hair. According to Vogue, balayage is defined as “a French coloring technique that was developed in the 1970s. It’s a freehand technique where the color is applied by hand rather than using...

Spring Colors at Work

Fashion•Outfits

Here is my second outfit with 10DollarMall.com! You can see my first one from last week here. I called this spring colors because two of my co-workers mentioned I looked very “springy” in this outfit, and I couldn’t agree more! One of the main reasons I love 10DollarMall.com and their new site just for women, Moddeals.com (everything is still under $10!!!!!), is that I can purchase things for work and for fun/the weekend. This cardigan is such a gorgeous color and I love the beading detail. This skirt is absolutely amazing, SO SO SO comfortable. I can not overemphasize how comfortable...

Nothing Special

Outfits

Yesterday morning was literally one of those mornings where I had 5 minutes to choose an outfit (15 minutes to get ready in total, whoops). The easiest route for me is a dress + blazer/cardigan and just match all my accessories. It seems so boring and blah, but sometimes it just works when you are trying to get ready fast. I chose my sequin black cardigan over my plain one though, just to add a little something more to the ensemble. It is still nothing special, but it happens. On the upside, the SUN WAS SHINING yesterday and got...

Simply Spiked

Outfits

Well everyone, it is official. I am obsessed with maxis and longer skirts (you can see my other maxi skirt styles here, here and here just from the past couple months).  There is something so chic and elegant about the longer length that just has me on repeat with this style (and I can’t wait to add boots for fall). Earlier this week, I grabbed a vintage black skirt my grandma gave to me a few months ago and paired with with simple pieces: a tank, short sweater cardigan and beaded necklace. You can find other stylish cardigans like...

Earth Tones

Outfits

Pin It The simplicity of pairing various shades of neutrals from tan to dark brown can turn into a surprisingly chic end result.  This outfit started with my new nude dress that I got on sale at a local Minneapolis store and from there it went in this order: polka dot cardigan, belt and oxfords.  My oxfords are always hidden away in my closet (sadly) and every time I wear them, I remember how fashionable they can make an outfit look!  Unfortunately my shoes are in a big pile in my closet right now because my turning shoe holder broke (oops!)....

A Bouquet of Lilies

Outfits

Pin It As I’ve said previously, I draw inspiration from many sources and so far I’ve shown you my celebrity inspirations from Whitney Port and Hilary Duff, but today I am showing you inspiration from what I believe is the most inspirational source out there: nature.  From color combinations, to the textures and the way things move, nature, in my opinion, is where all great art comes from.  And since fashion is my way of being creative in everyday life, I will always be inspired by nature’s beauty.  This look, which is more colorful than many of the outfits...

Inspired Style: Metallic Skirt – Hilary Duff

Outfits

My second inspiration post is from Hilary Duff… who was looking chic in a bandage metallic skirt and oxford pumps. When I first saw this ensemble I thought it was so simple, yet so cute… and a great look to mimic at the office (with a metallic pencil skirt rather than a mini bandage)! I love the simple black “school girl” cardigan, the shimmer of the metallic and the pop of the black and white oxford pump. The only thing I changed was wearing a metallic pencil skirt (that I got on sale at New York & Company after...
