Fall Poncho

Fashion•Outfits

Happy Monday! Wow, can you believe it? Does each weekend keep going faster and faster, or is it just me? I had a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Saturday, my boyfriend, brother-in-law, Emma, and I drove down to Iowa to celebrate my grandmother’s 90th birthday, a month early, but it was a great weekend for travel and we are worried about getting everyone together in the upcoming months (you know because of the “s” word…). Always an amazing time with family, but seems to go too fast each and every time! Yesterday was a gorgeous day, we spent...

Fringed Kimonos & Sunsets

Fashion•Outfits

Two things I absolutely love: fringed kimonos and sunsets. I love kimonos, especially when they have a fun pattern and unique style. This printed, fringed kimono from Zaful has every detail I love – the length, the colors, the pattern, the fringe – everything! I’ve been eyeing so many fringed booties too, I think I’m going to have to pick up a pair soon. Also, how awesome is this pearl blossom necklace from Happiness Boutique?! It reminds of one I’ve been wanting for a long time, but could never get myself to buy. This one looks and feels high quality, yet...

Travel Style

Fashion•Outfits•Travel

Jacket // Shirt // Sunglasses // Sneakers // Bag I always try my best to be comfy and stylish when traveling. So for my upcoming trip to Miami, I wanted to put together a simple, easy outfit that can keep me warm while still being in Minnesota, but easily transfer to Florida temperatures. A few of my favorite pieces for traveling are an oversized cardigan/sweater, stretchy jeans (or better known as jeggings), a t-shirt and sneakers. I also want a functional, yet stylish bag to have along as a carry on. This tote from Fjallraven Canada is the perfect size and a...

Patterned Wrap

Fashion•Outfits

This gorgeous patterned wrap has just a hint of metallic in it, making it perfect for this time of year. It gives it just enough of the holiday feel without being too obvious. I am also always am looking for ways to add color to my wardrobe during the winter, so this wrap is just what I’ve been looking for! Of course, I couldn’t go through my weekend without my trusty felt fedora – it could be the fact my roots are awful because I haven’t been to the hair salon since August (whoops). Anyway, make sure to check out...

Embroidered Top

Fashion•Outfits•Shopping

This embroidered top from OASAP is the perfect top for summer! It is light-weight with a beautiful pattern in blue. It also comes in four other beautiful colors for summer (love the navy color as well). This past Sunday, I wore it for date night to a local Mexican restaurant called El Patron! I would highly recommend this top or something similar for summer. It is light-weight and has a Mexican vibe, similar to the vibe this dress from Mexico has. I dressed the blouse down with cuffed jeans and my new open-toe booties, but I can’t wait to pair it with...

Striped Shirt + Puffer Vest

Fashion•Outfits

Yesterday I got to spend the day with my boyfriend’s family, and it was such a fun day with them (and full of delicious food)! Palm Sunday has always been a huge celebration for his family, and I feel so fortunate to have spent the day with them. I wish I would have been wearing some of my spring picks, but what can you do when it is 40 and windy on April 13th?! This is my second basic piece from Front Row Shop (see my first review here) and I am still impressed. This shirt is a great...

Leopard Layers

Outfits

I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with Front Row Shop, who sent me some basics to review. This long-sleeve navy t-shirt is just what I’ve been looking for to add to my weekend wardrobe.  It is extremely soft and sheer, so perfect for layering, and it has thumb holes. I used to think thumb holes were strange and annoying, but I’ve ordered a couple tops from Ellie for working out that have them, and after wearing those, I now love thumb holes! I simply roll up the ends of the sleeves when I don’t want...

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Fashion•Outfits

This past weekend my family came to visit and it was such an amazing time! We ate out, had brunch, watched Iowa State kill it in the championship game vs. Baylor and just enjoyed each other’s company. Today is my mom’s birthday and they are still in town, so I can’t wait to catch up with them for lunch before they head back to Iowa. I love you so much mom, I hope you have a fabulous birthday!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you all had an amazing, green-filled weekend 🙂 And HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY! Sweater, 10DollarMall.com Jeans, 7FAM via Goodwill...

Blazer and Jeans: Casual Style

Outfits

Ever heard the expression “Keep it simple stupid”…? Well this is my new saying for myself on casual Fridays. Sometimes I over think outfits for Fridays, so this week I made it as simple as possible! T-shirt, blazer, skinny jeans, necklace and booties (it was kind of chilly out… I’m really wanting to pull out my gladiators here soon!) And well, I loved the result. And my Sam Edelman booties are everything in this outfit. Just enough to make it interesting and fun! Also, the perfect outfit to drive home in. Since it was cold yesterday on Mother’s Day,...

It's also a struggle to find the right moisturizer that keeps my skin healthy, balanced and glowing all while reducing irritation. This summer has been especially hard as I've struggled with "maskne"! That's why I'm beyond excited to tell you about the Clarifying Oil-Free Water Gel Moisturizer from @muradskincare! This moisturizer is a game-changer for someone like me with acne-prone, oily skin. This oil-free moisturizer helps minimize impurities while balancing your skin's microbiome for healthier-looking skin. Since using this, my skin is clearer and healthier looking! I have battled so many breakouts around my chin and on my cheeks this summer - but am so relieved to be seeing results and seeing clearer skin while also getting the crucial hydration I need. It’s been awhile and A LOT has happened in our w It’s been awhile and A LOT has happened in our world since I last posted to my feed. There is a lot I want to say and I will be posting a lot more soon, but first & foremost...

Black Lives Matter.

I wish I had posted about this in my feed sooner, but I honestly didn’t know what to say or how to say it. I spent way too long overthinking it versus just doing it. I know that’s not an excuse, and I know I have to do better. I’ve been spending a lot of time reflecting and educating myself as well as finding ways to help and be proactive. I am committing myself to do more and do better. I know it’s not enough and I’m not sure it will ever be enough... but I will never stop trying.

The most important thing I learned is that my silence in the past was unacceptable and a huge part of the problem. I thought not knowing what to say and worrying about saying the wrong thing meant it was ok to be silent. It WAS NOT and IS NOT ok.

I have so much more to learn and to do, but one thing is for sure... I will no longer be silent. I will continue to keep the anti-racism resources link in my bio - as it has been a great resource for me and know it has been for many others. Again, I’m not excusing myself for not posting in my feed sooner but I will continue to share and hope to keep the momentum going 🖤 Black Lives Matter 🖤
Hey friends! How are you?! We made it through anot Hey friends! How are you?! We made it through another *very unusual* & crazy/scary week. I hope you are staying safe & well!
.
Yesterday we took Emma @emmaminiaussie to the vet for her annual vet check up. It was her first appointment at a new vet since our move, and we had to let her go in alone. My anxiety has been off the charts lately, as I’m sure it has been for many of you, and heightened even more by this. Emma is truly our child, our daughter, and I am always anxious wanting to ensure she’s happy and doing well.
.
Sitting outside in the car waiting for the call from our new vet was difficult, but I’m so happy to report her health at almost 8 years old is wonderful! She’s thriving and it makes my heart so happy. Another great reminder during these times to be thankful for what matters most - your health and your loved ones’ health (including your fur babies 🐶). So with another long caption today just wishing health and safety to all of you right now! And another thank you to essential workers on the frontlines ❤️🙏🏻 #emmatheminiaussie #loveconquersall #stayhealthy
Hello Instagram family… it’s been awhile. I ha Hello Instagram family… it’s been awhile. I have not posted in my feed since February… and so this is going to be a long one since life as we know it has completely changed over the past month.
I decided I needed a mental break from Instagram - not all social media - just Instagram. I have been unmotivated to post on this particular platform and was constantly posting old photos/photoshoots just to have something to post. So I took a break to refresh.
Well, as you know, things started to escalate pretty quickly with COVID-19. I was just about ready to start posting again and BOOM. Just like that, everything in our world changed. It didn’t feel right to post my latest outfit at that moment…
Things are still escalating, but I’m back here today because I’m longing for connection more than ever and because I want to say THANK you to so many people.
Things are scary right now. They are uncertain and unfathomable. We are all trying to adapt to a new normal. I don’t have much to add to what others have been saying, but I do want to say I’m thinking of and praying for everyone, especially those directly affected by the pandemic.
I also want to say thank you to everyone putting their lives at risk to help our country and our world during this time. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU to healthcare workers, delivery drivers, grocery store workers, pharmacy/drugstore workers, app-based gig workers out in the field, restaurants who are feeding healthcare workers and feeding children lunches, teachers going above and beyond, to those helping get their parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors and others who are vulnerable the essentials they need to get through this. You are all HEROES and I can never express enough gratitude for what you are doing.
I don’t have much else to say, but I hope to continue to connect with you all again on this platform. THANK YOU to everyone who is putting an effort into making a difference during this pandemic. Staying home means so much right now if you are able to! We will get through this together if we work together. Stay safe, stay well, and be kind ❤️ #stayhome #besafe #thankyou
Happy Valentine’s Day my love ❤️❤️❤️ Happy Valentine’s Day my love ❤️❤️❤️ love you with all I am 💕💕💕#valentinesday2020 #myhusband #myvalentine
