Now that it’s April, the rainy spring season is finally here (I think… there is always a possibility for more snow). Regardless, if you own a pair of rain boots and don’t always know how to style them, I have gotten some Pinterest inspiration for how to style them for those rainy days. Happy 1st of April! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter!
Polka Dot Maxi + Cowl Neck Sweater
To me, nothing is more comfortable or stylish than a maxi skirt. You don’t have to worry about length (which for tall girls is always a problem when it comes to dresses, pencil and mini skirts) and they look incredibly chic, but you feel like you are still at home lounging around in your pajamas. I love winterizing maxi skirts by simply pairing them with a sweater. I always belt a combo like this because the skirt and sweater are looser items, so by adding a belt, I give myself shape. Add some tall socks and a pair of boots and the outfit is literally that easy to throw together and perfect for a Monday at the office.
#OOTD
Just thought I’d share some of my daily outfits that don’t make the blog, but are still a part of my documented daily style with a little hashtag action: #ootd.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Casual Friday + Polka Dots

This Friday’s casual outfit was a complete recreation of a look from Happily Grey (see her outfit here). I pinned this look awhile back from my friend and once I got this polka dot top for my birthday, I remembered how striking a beige/black polka dot top looks with a neon scarf (Yup, that’s right… I can seriously remember WAY too many of the things I’ve pinned… kind of scary). Since I just got my neon infinity scarf with my January budget, it was the perfect time to try this look. I hate to admit that Casual Fridays are not easy for me. During the week I’m usually in pencil skirts, maxis or work pants, so I am really focused on dressing up. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE being able to wear jeans at my job every Friday, but because I’ve been out of the habit of dressing more casually or dressing up jeans, it makes it hard for me to get it right. This is why I need inspiration… this is why Pinterest, other bloggers like Mary from Happily Grey and YOU make life so awesome. THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS INSPIRING ME!
Stay Classy My Friends. (haha, anyone else a fan of Anchor Man?!) Have a fabulous weekend!
Polka Dots at Work
Some days I just want to match because honestly, it is just easy, right? Well to make my gray dress and booties a bit more exciting, I added some navy polka dot tights and my mother’s polka dot earrings. Sometimes I forget that earrings can add such a great touch to an outfit and after remembering to wear one of my more unique pairs with this outfit, I’m kicking myself in the butt for the days I forget to put earrings in at all. That my friends is life. It happens!
Happy Friday Eve!
Best of Insta
Just wanted to do a fun post sharing some of my photos on Instagram (some recent and some not so recent). I call them the best, well, because heart(s) don’t lie. Plus I see a trend: stripes, polka dots and puppies! Who doesn’t love those things?! I get it, I get it for sure. And the beautiful Aussie at the bottom left belongs to Megan from Two Birds. I met this stunner at the Minnesota Blogger Meet Up a couple weeks ago!
Black & White Secrets
So this is an outfit I would wear for a night out with my girls. But these days, at the end of the work week, as much as I want to go out and party with my friends, I want to make sure I am also as comfy as possible. A light-weight lace back cardigan, breezy tank top and my polka dot pj shorts are the PERFECT way to achieve this. Did I just say pj shorts? Yes these are my polka dot pajama shorts I recently picked up at TJ Maxx so I’d have a matching pair of pjs for my trip to Europe. When I wore them for the first time, I realized how cute the shorts were and they even have pockets! To dress them up more, I thought the lace and hot pink Rachel by Rachel Roy pumps would do just the trick.
Polka Dot Day: Opportunities Await
Today is simple: how can you go wrong with a polka dot dress, tweed blazer and pearls? Today I bring my vintage, full-skirt polka dot dress to life for a day where I can comfortably move about the office while looking polished in a blazer and classy with a strand pearls. And the best part… by the end of the day, this outfit is ready for any after-work endeavor. Today is my day of opportunity
Earth Tones
The simplicity of pairing various shades of neutrals from tan to dark brown can turn into a surprisingly chic end result. This outfit started with my new nude dress that I got on sale at a local Minneapolis store and from there it went in this order: polka dot cardigan, belt and oxfords. My oxfords are always hidden away in my closet (sadly) and every time I wear them, I remember how fashionable they can make an outfit look! Unfortunately my shoes are in a big pile in my closet right now because my turning shoe holder broke (oops!). I’m going to need to figure out a better way to organize my massive (to say the least) shoe collection that continues to grow. Back to the outfit: with the dress, I wanted to pair a my beige cardigan with earthy green polka dots that also always seems to get hidden in my closet. I guess this outfit stemmed from the hidden treasures of my closet!
