An easy, yet put together look for the weekend is simple with my long cotton Banana Republic dress I got on clearance a few years back. It is great for the summer with laced up gladiator sandals, but also the perfect dress to layer during the winter. Since it has been so unseasonably warm, today I felt like wearing my short sleeve khaki jacket for a change of pace from blazers and long sleeve cardigans. I am not for sure what my plans are for the rest of the day… but this outfit will work, regardless of where the day may take me! Hope you are having a great weekend so far!

“DO” the LOOK
Long Brown Dress: To achieve this look, the dress or main layering item needs to be more simple and free flowing and still give off a chic vibe. If you don’t have a dress that goes past your knees, try a sheath dress, it will still give off the same chic, comfy look
Beige Short Sleeve Jacket: Whether you go for a long sleeve jacket, short sleeve jacket , cardigan or some other type of cover up, it needs to be structured. A structured cover up balances out the more flowy, comfy look of the dress
Brown Booties: Heeled booties both make the look dressed up, yet casual. Other options might include open-toed strappy heels or sneakers. If you go for classic pumps, it will make the look more dressy overall.
Brown Opaque Tights: Opaque colored tights with the same color of shoes (heels, boots or otherwise) help elongate the look of your legs, so it is a good option to match your tights to the color of your shoes. Otherwise, a patterned tight could really add an extra chic element to this outfit.
Tri-metallic Bracelet: Any accessory whether a bracelet, earrings or a belt should be simple with this ensemble to keep the balance that was established with a flowy dress and structured jacket. A mix between chunky and dainty jewelry could maintain this balance and colored accessories could also add some spice. I love metallic accessories, so a tri-metallic chunky bracelet was a great way for me to add something extra to the outfit. Viola… simple, yet chic!
