Favorite Fall Lipsticks

 
If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed I wore a dark lip recently. I have owned dark plum and other fall lipstick colors for awhile, but I’ve been wearing them nonstop the past couple weeks (after work and on the weekends of course). I decided to share some of my favorites (including two of the shades I mixed together to achieve the look in my Instagram pic):

MAC Pro Longwear Lipcreme – Faithfully Yours – I ordered this lipstick a couple years ago and usually use it to layer colors. It gives a very deep, almost dark brown/black color. This is very intense and I usually wear it on nights out. I used this as the bottom layer in my Instagram photo!

Maybelline ColorSensational Lipstick – Plum Perfect – This has been one of my favorites ever since I discovered it about four years ago. I distinctly remember purchasing this because I used to spend hours wandering around the beauty section in the local Walgreens. Don’t ask me why that was my hang out spot, it just was! This gives a nice plum matte look, and I wore it recently in this post.

L’Oreal Paris Colour Riche Extraordinaire Liquid Lipstick – Plum Adagio – I picked up this liquid lipstick a few weeks ago because I also wanted a plum color that left a shiny, glossy look. I love it and it smells good too! I wore it as the second layer over my lips in my Instagram picture. You do have to spend some time adding more to get the right look with this!

NARS Lipstick – Fire Down Below – NARS lipsticks are so smooth and creamy I highly recommend them in general, but this shade of red is so gorgeous and has a little bit more of that deep, blood red color. I tend to opt for darker red shades in fall/witner and orange-y red shades in spring/summer.

These are just a few of my favorites, I will still wear pink and peach from time to time, but I LOVE these darker shades for fall. Give a darker shade a try if you haven’t… I think you’ll really like them!

I am going to have a bit of a blog hiatus here soon (you might have already noticed it this week) as we are preparing to move and while we are staying with friends for a couple weeks before we can move into our new apartment. Half of my closet is packed up and most of my free time is spent calling companies to move our services or packing more of our apartment. I will certainly still be sharing some posts, just not as many and I hope I will be back in full swing after the move in early November and be able to interact more again!
