Backpack Backpack!

Backpack

Hello lovely friends! This week has been AMAZING! Why? Because it’s Halloween week of course! I have been busy gathering the last items to put my costumes together. I have three planned – one for work, one for Friday night, and a couple’s costume with my boyfriend for Saturday night (Friday and Saturday might switch we’ll see). But anyway – I have noticed my style gradually getting more casual and I think it is influenced by my new job where I can wear jeans every day if I want to. I still wear a skirt or dress every now and again, but jeans and pants are pretty much my go-tos now. My favorite style is still classy and feminine (which normally includes dresses and skirts), but I must admit it’s been fun to try new casual styles. It is also a very functional style for Minnesota. This look is very casual and outdoorsy – and this new backpack from Fjällräven! The Fjällräven kånken backpack is perfect for taking Emma on some of the longer walks I do with her now (water, treats to get her to behave, and bowls). Fjällräven kånken recently opened THREE stores in the Twin Cities – one at the Mall of America, one in uptown Minneapolis, and one in St. Paul.

New Shoes : How to Style Open-Toe Booties

How to Style Open-Toe Booties

I just ordered this pair of open-toe booties from ShoeDazzle (for 30 cents I might add)… such a steal, right?! Well, I had VIP credits saved up from being a part of the program for over a year, so they were $29.95 and I had $26.65 in credit! I couldn’t resist these, I’ve seen so many people style them so well, I had to get a pair for myself. Here are four ways to style open-toed booties for spring and summer!

Shirt Dress + Structured Bag

I love the idea of open-toe booties with a shirt dress! I have seen so many cute outfits with army green + pink, so I think this would be a great combination for a chic, day-time look.

{Dress, Bag, Sunglasses}

Casual Style with Fringed Kimono

I don’t own a duffle or bucket bag yet, but as you can see I am in love with this! This textured one is so cute! A relaxed, laid-back boho vibe is easily accomplished with a fringed kimono and a pair of skinny jeans!

{Kimono, T-Shirt, Jeans, Bag}

Striped Top + White Blazer + Floral Jeans

There’s nothing better than a good stripes + florals mix! I also love mixing beige and tan with black, so overall this outfit is the right amount of danger. Of course, topping it off with a chic pair of cat-eye sunglasses helps!

{Blazer, T-Shirt, Floral Jeans, Sunglasses, Bag}

Shorts + Blouse + Bucket Bag

Shorts + open-toe booties is such a chic look and I also love covering up on top if something is showing a lot of legs and vice versa, which is why this polka dot blouse from H&M is perfect! And this bucket bag from Old Navy is amazing! I love the way Kimberly has styled hers!

Striped Shirt + Puffer Vest

striped shirt, old navy puffer vest

Yesterday I got to spend the day with my boyfriend’s family, and it was such a fun day with them (and full of delicious food)! Palm Sunday has always been a huge celebration for his family, and I feel so fortunate to have spent the day with them. I wish I would have been wearing some of my spring picks, but what can you do when it is 40 and windy on April 13th?!

This is my second basic piece from Front Row Shop (see my first review here) and I am still impressed. This shirt is a great basic, high quality, soft and warm, and has an amazing sheer detail on the top. I love when you can buy basics that have a unique detail like this. And even with the sheer top, it is still appropriate for work! I would pair it with a blazer and/or with red slacks for a nautical vibe. Stayed tuned, I’m sure this top will be making another appearance on the blog soon!
