This weekend seemed quicker than ever after “getting used” to a four-day weekend last week. Le sigh. But, so many exciting things coming up, and I had such a great weekend, I really can’t complain! I spent Friday night at home with my boyfriend watching a movie and addressing Christmas cards. Saturday morning we went downtown for coffee and to explore all the gorgeous Christmas decor. That afternoon, I headed to Iowa to see and spend that night at my grandma’s place. I wanted to be able to spend some quality time with her before her birthday on the 13th, she’s turning 90! And also wanted to see her because even though I’ll see her on Christmas, there are so many people and things going on, it really was a blessing to spend one-on-one time with her this weekend. We went thrifting, went to church, ate at a delicious little diner, watched Christmas movies, and ate ice cream. I’m already missing her!

These photos were actually taken over Thanksgiving weekend, when we went to visit my boyfriend’s family. And you might have spotted Emma in one photo (she enjoys when we include her in things)! This black faux fur poncho is literally like wearing a blanket (and it probably looks like I’m wearing a blanket), but I think the faux fur gives it that extra element of luxury, so I can get away with wearing it in real life.
