Chic, sleek and easy-to-wear maxis have become a staple in many wardrobes and they provide a versatile, unique look. Breezy maxi styles have helped fashionistas beat the summer heat, but what about styling these beauties for fall? By adding layers and more details, the transition from summer to fall is as easy as one, two, three!
Summer Styling
There are so many ways to style a maxi in the summer, the list is literally endless. From plain tees and graphic tees to tank tops and crop tops, maxis can easily be styled for any occasion. A short sleeve sequin shirt or tank adds texture and shine to a maxi. Paired with a statement necklace and strappy sandals or wedges, you are set to go for a summer day.

With a plain tee and pointy pumps, a maxi makes a gorgeous date night ensemble.

Try a graphic tee and vintage scarf for a fun day time look for running errands or going to a flea market.
Fall Styling
How do you transition this piece to fall? Start by layering. By adding a jacket (here I added a short sleeve jacket because the weather was still warm enough for it) such as a leather jacket or military jacket, or by adding a chunky sweater or cardigan, your outfit is instantly transformed. Next step is to add details: by adding a fall-rich colored accessory, such as a burgundy floppy hat and dark hues or patterned details, such as a dark brown belt, your outfit has new fall-esque touches. Final step is just as simple! Switch out those summery sandals for a chic pair of ankle booties or tall boots for a perfect, complete fall look. Here I added a pair of Kenzie buckle booties to toughen up an otherwise feminine outfit. Mixing colors, layers, textures and balancing feminie/masculine details will create a fool-proof fall maxi outfit!

With a chunky knit, a maxi easily translates to fall weather and looks completely chic. A small handbag adds the perfect touch to this ensemble.

Go monochromatic by pairing your maxi with a similar shade blouse. Add a wide belt to highlight your waist and viola, you are all set! I realize this is a dress, but you get the idea!
