Chambray + Metallic Skirt

Chambray + Metallic Skirt

So, I’ve seen this kind of look a few times and love the idea of a chambray shirt with a sequin skirt, but for work, a metallic skirt works a little better. I’ve seen Laura and Jessie (found on Pinterest, her blog is now found under Fashion Salade rock this look, and honestly this look all came together when I decided I wanted to wear my denim dress (last seen here).  But of course my struggle of getting ready in the morning… I didn’t know what to wear with my denim dress, so I instead turned it into a shirt by adding a thrifted metallic skirt and a thin leopard print belt. Adding a black blazer and some booties, I had my version of this look complete! Comfy, yet cute and I love that I was able to get more use out of my denim dress! Do you like to wear your dresses as skirts or shirts?

Happy Friday, I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Super pretty! I’ve never done a dress as a top – I’ve done dresses as skirts before though! I may have to try the dress as a top sometime! This is a look I’ve been wanting to try too, just need to find the right skirt!

If I wait to decide what to wear in the morning I’m either really late or really boringly styled. Way to get creative n the fly! Have a great weekend!

So pretty! I love the way chambray instantly makes a fancier piece a bit more casual and “day time.” You look gorgeous–happy weekend!

Gorgeous skirt! You can always make an outfit more casual with a chambray button-up, I agree! Happy weekend Rachel!

I would have never guess that the denim shirt was actually a dress! you look stunning and this is just more proof that I need a chambray shirt 🙂

I never ever had tried to wear a dress as a shirt but when I see you today I´m sure I should give my dresses a chance as a shirt, too 😉

You´re looking so chic and elegant, I like it!

I like the skirt. I don’t have any sequined skirts, but I do have a metallic one for casual days at work.

I've worn a chambray with black and gold tweed shorts similar to your skirt before — I love that kind of dressy/causal combination!

I think the length of this skirt is what really makes it work. It’s not a mini, so it’s not inappropriate.

Haha, VERY TRUE! Can’t wear a mini to work 😉 But now that you mention that, it really makes me want a gold sequin pencil skirt… hmmmmmm…
