February’s Shopping Budget = $200
Well I was slightly under my monthly total again (YAY!) I thought I would for sure hit it or go over with Target’s Prabal Gurung’s collection. To be honest, I LOVED the looks of everything online, but when I saw it in person, I wasn’t as impressed. Who knows, maybe I will take another look when some of it is on clearance. The shoes in this collection, on the other hand, are AMAZING but I just don’t need anymore awesome heels… There are plenty of heels in my closet feeling neglected thanks to the winter weather and I don’t want to make them sad anymore.
Anyway, I am happy that I got a few coats to finish out the winter season and start fresh next winter! This white skater skirt from Asos was a completely random purchase, but for $21.05, I couldn’t resist! Skater skirts are one of my favorites to wear year round (see here, here and here).
My JustFab tote was specifically purchased for my upcoming trip. I just wanted something big and roomy to bring on the plane and to carry around while roaming the Vegas strip. Have I mentioned how excited I am for Vegas?! Okay, yeah only a few times! It will be my first time flying together with the boyfriend and our second BIG vacation together. Plus we are celebrating our 2 year anniversary (of dating that is). That’s pretty exciting in and of itself!
Faux Fur Coat, Forever 21 $25.99 (no sales tax, bought in store) = $25.99 (Sold Out)
Faux Leather Trimmed Coat, Forever 21 $20.99 (bought online + $5.95 S&H) = $26.94 (Sold Out)
Gray Peacoat ($10.00) + Pink Plaid Scarf ($4.00), Plato’s Closet $14.00 (-$13.90 for clothes sold same day) = $0.10
Solid/Sheer White Striped Skirt, Asos $21.05 (free shipping) = $21.05 (Sold Out)
Tote, JustFab $39.95 (free shipping) = $39.95
Ellie Fit Fashionista Club, “Electric Love Capri” Leggings in Turquoise and “After Dark” razor back tank top $49.95
TOTAL: $163.98
Amount left: $36.02 — will be going to my savings or monthly bills
Even though we are going to Vegas in March, I’m setting my budget lower than the past two months: $150. Probably going to spend it all shopping in Vegas, which just means I have to behave the rest of the month!
How did you do in February?!

February 24, 2013 at 5:13 PMI really like this whole budget idea!!! I just started to put myself on a weekly budget and it’s such a great idea! I am swooning over this bag! How do you like it? I am in the market for a new purse but I don’t want one that flops down. Make sense? Like one that can sit up on it’s own without falling over or looking all squished.

February 24, 2013 at 7:17 PMKashia, I KNOW EXACTLY what you mean! And I just used it for the first time today… stays perfect and all I had in it was my wallet and keys! It stays straight, so aside from how high quality it looks, I definitely recommend it for that reason!

February 27, 2013 at 2:21 PMAJ, I LOVE them! Seriously super comfortable, and the Ellie brand seems pretty quality next to the NUX brand I got in a shirt. Also, I love the variety of styles and how affordable it is if you are a member… $50 a month for this full year I’m planning on. That way I can completely revamp my workout wardrobe!

February 25, 2013 at 4:44 AMSuch great pieces you got there! Wish I had that budget for the month. Mine was $70 for thrifting and that was A LOT of money for me 🙂 haha.

February 25, 2013 at 6:43 AMGood to know about the PG line at Target. We’re going to be getting targets here in Canada soon so it’s good to have a heads-up before the madness starts 😛

February 25, 2013 at 8:51 AMYeah, I mean… it just seemed a bit overpriced for the quality! But the prints and everything of course are great! I would just rather wait for clearance 🙂

February 25, 2013 at 8:46 PMI envy you for setting a budget like that. I am so intimidated. Honestly, that’s why I started Poshmark so that I can keep hiding from the scary “B” word and spend what I make on there!
You made some beautiful purchases! You are making me covet some, too…. :/
Rachel
February 27, 2013 at 2:15 PMEmily… ahhh yes the “B” word is evil and hard to acknowledge. A year ago I was spending 350-400 a month on clothes. And I just don’t NEED that… and would rather spend it on traveling or hanging out doing things with friends. It is hard at first, but now I kind of enjoy the challenge of staying on budget!

March Budget | Rachel's Lookbook
April 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM[…] I went over my budget by $17.02 this month. For me, that isn’t THAT BAD and if I hadn’t bought that extra workout tank for $17 I would have been on track. Oh well, could have been worse (those sales just get me!) The only thing I bought in Vegas was the striped sweater. It was great for the plane ride home and I know I will get a lot of use out of it. I have been working really hard to reduce my budget and stick to it… until this month, I was on track (see January’s budget here and February’s budget here). […]
