After reviewing last year’s goals and how well I did, it’s now time to share this year’s goals!
{Make a Difference} – Okay, I know this sounds really broad, but it’s to give me something to focus on whether it’s volunteering again or attending my local city council meetings. I really enjoyed volunteering at the Sexual Violence Center and miss feeling like I’m doing something to help out or make a difference. And after the series of events that occurred last year, I was left feeling helpless and disappointed that I couldn’t be doing more. While I have donated money to organizations over the past few years, nothing compares to the hours of service people give. I don’t know exactly how I’ll accomplish it yet, but I want to leave this goal a little more open-ended so I can hopefully accomplish something. At the end of the day, I think it also means having more courage to stand up for those who can’t stand up for themselves.
{Simplify} – With the wedding just around the corner, I want to do anything and everything I can to simplify different parts of our lives. That means everything from organizing and getting rid of what we don’t need, not spending money on unnecessary things and continuing to enjoy quiet nights in rather than spending a lot of money out. Also, by simplifying my life at home, I can hopefully be more organized and feel more prepared for the big day.
{Reach My Fitness Goals by My Wedding Day} – I’ve been on and off with my fitness goals over the past few years. I have luckily kept my weight down from my heaviest back in 2012, but I still have room for improvement. I really just want to be able to get back into a routine I love and tone up. Ideally, I’ll get back to where I was in 2010, which was just me being consistent with running and lifting, and drinking less during the week. I just want to put on my wedding dress and feel proud of who I am, not regret what I could have been doing and how I could have been better before then. This is the ultimate motivation to reach my fitness goals! Any and all help and encouragement along the way would be greatly appreciated! (aka, share your fitness tips with me)! And October 14, 2017 – I’m going to be ready for you!
{Get on YouTube!} – Yes, that’s right! I’m repeating this goal from last year. I really want to do more video content this year and want to be able to connect with everyone on more of a personal level! I love YouTube for this reason (and video content in general). I think it’s just much easier to get a feel for someone’s personality via video and I have a lot of things I share on here that could be supplemented with video.
{Continue to Grow the Blog} – Last year, I definitely was able to do some of the most incredible things with the blog. For the first time, I was able to travel and get paid. I’ve been wanting to do more travel-focused posts and hope to continue to grow that part of the blog this year. Along with that, I hope to spend more time focusing on social media again. I think I’m in a great routine with the blog now, just not as great as promoting in on my social channels. or doing as much interacting on places like Instagram and Twitter. I hope to continue to share new, fresh ideas related to personal style, affordable beauty tips and tricks and how to travel and see on the world on a budget. If there is anything else you want to see, let me know!
{Keep Working to Get to a Point Where I Can Do What I Really Want} – I’ve had a couple ideas in the works over the past couple years, and since this will be my final year in my 20s, I think I’m finally ready to make them happen. No more fear. No more letting small things get in the way. No more what ifs -because what about the why nots? I’m ready to do something big in 2017 aside from marrying the love of my life! I want to really try to do something that makes me happy.
