Snow for Christmas!

If you live anywhere in the Midwest, then you’ve also probably been hit with the fluffy white goodness that is snow. While winter can be a long, painful period of time in Minnesota, at least I’m happy to call it Minne-snow-ta! I figure, if it is going to be cold, dark and at times, depressing outside, might as well have something pretty to look at. And this year, I think we have a bit extra for Christmas – and I’m certainly okay with that!

Hey all! I’m back to share the second half of our engagement photos. In case you missed the first set, here is the post about our dressed up/couple photos. For our second outfit and round of photos, we wanted to include Emma (of course, how do you not include the fur child), so we wanted to be more casual. I thought it would be cute to buy her a scarf so we played off of that as our choices. I chose a plain, white cable knit sweater, high-waisted blue jeans and brown boots.

For Joe, I chose a burgundy, light-weight sweater (to play off our wedding colors), a pair of khakis and black dress shoes. I actually had a dog scarf for Emma, but found this adorable one while shopping and couldn’t resist it! I just had to wrap it a few times and time it so it stayed in place.

This round of photos was so much fun! It was great to have Emma around, which lightened the mood up even more. Not to mention, our photographer captured two of the most amazing photos of her in action!

A few weeks ago, my fiancé Joe and I got our engagement photos back from our photographer, Brovado Weddings. We took them on October 21, right before we went to Nebraska for the weekend. I’m not going to lie, after years of taking blog photos and even being a part of a People photoshoot, I was pretty nervous for these! I think it is because Joe and I have never taken professional photos together, and I was honestly so busy at the time, I didn’t even know if I picked out good outfits (so much for being a fashion blogger). But somehow, as it always does, it worked out.

I wanted to wear an off-the-shoulder dress, I don’t really have a good reason for  that except I’ve always liked the way they look on me and it was a great opportunity to wear to one! I knew that I wanted one fancier look and one more casual – so I thought, why not go all out? Luckily, after ordering my dress and determining Joe’s look with a suit and blue striped tie, we found the location. It was full of gorgeous, tall, yellow trees. I have never seen anything like it in the past. It made me cry because it was so beautiful and fall is my favorite. I’ve seen photos of fall foliage like this before, but ever have been able to experience it myself. It is behind belief I could find something so gorgeous in Minnesota.
