Wedding Wednesday: Choosing the Ideal Wedding Cake

- Wedding

It’s the wedding season and almost everybody is looking for the right design when it comes to their wedding cake. Everything from the flavor to the quality of the cake matters. You want to make sure you have a cake that pleases everyone. So it can be quite a tough job to finalize on one cake that everyone loves equally. So, here’s how you can plan out the whole cake buying ceremony.

1. Choose a cake that matches with the style

You should be looking for a cake which will go well with the theme of the venue, your dress codes, the season or with the kind of flower arrangements that will be used. You could explain all of this to your cake designer and have them picture exactly what you have in mind.

2. Keep a budget

Usually the cake is priced by the slice. Have a count of how many are attending the wedding and order a cake accordingly. This will give you the best of your money’s worth.

3. Match the cake according to the space available

Make sure that the cake fits in to the space and the room perfectly. This will also help you decide the tiers of the cake.

4. Choose the right flavor

A lot of people have trouble choosing the right flavor. But the safest choice would be to go with a popular flavor that is preferred by those you are inviting for the wedding. So go for the more common flavor which every one would like for sure, like a white cake with vanilla frosting.

5. Choose a trusted cake designer

If you know someone who bakes cakes professionally, then he/she should be your first choice. I have this friend I made online who bakes the most incredible cakes that are just out of this world! She and I have been playing free online bingo games on GameVillage for over a year now.

So, good luck finding that perfect cake which makes your wedding all the more memorable! I

Rimmel London mascara

If you asked me what my one beauty wish was, it would be to have naturally darker lashes. I have been trying to minimize the amount of daily makeup I wear, but foundation and mascara always seem to be my go-tos no matter what I have planned for the day. Excitingly enough, Rimmel has a new mascara called Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara and after at least two weeks of consistent use, it is supposed to help darken your lashes! Results of course vary and it could be up to four weeks for some people.

I was so excited to try out this mascara, as I am on the path for a more natural look or at least using less makeup per application. Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara is my new beauty best friend!

Rimmel Mascara

After using it for two weeks, I love how the tapered brush makes the application easy. The formula is a unique combination of creamy, black color for application with lash-tint color that helps give you naturally darker lashes after frequent use. Here’s how I’ve been incorporating this mascara into my routine lately:

Apply Foundation

Use brush to apply foundation

apply bronzer

Add bronzer all over face and emphasize cheeks

apply blush

Add a bright color of blush and a little bit of highlighter for a glow

apply eyeshadow

Apply a light, shimmery shade of eye shadow

fill in eyebrows

Use an eyebrow brush and brown eyeshadow to fill in brows

brush eyebrows

Brush through brows

apply eyeliner

Add a wing with eye liner

apply mascara

Apply two coats of Rimmel Volume Colourist Mascara

apply lipstick

Choose your favorite color of lipstick, apply – and you’re all set! Selfie ready, right?!

This is such an easy and quick routine in the morning – and after two weeks of straight application, I do notice a slight difference in the color of my bare lashes! Here’s the before and after for comparison (these photos were taken two weeks apart on my iPhone, with the same eyeliner on, but BARE lashes – also sorry I’m kind of awkward at these photos):

Happy Thursday everyone! I hate to brag, but this week has already been long and it’s my FRIDAY! Thank goodness! My fiancé and I are off on yet another road trip – this time to visit one of my best friends and her husband in Ohio. We will be driving through the night again to Cincinnati and bringing the pup again too. It will be so great to see her, it’s been over a year, which is way too long! In other great news, I found the PERFECT pair of black summer sandals. I have been living without black sandals all summer and I’m not sure how.  Kind of glad I waited though because I can’t imagine finding a better pair!
