Post Wedding Blues

Watching your sister get married is one of the most amazing feelings in the whole world. I cried before they even opened the chapel doors, but I already knew how beautiful she looked and how excited my whole family was for her.

It was seriously one of the best weekends of my whole life. Just writing about it now is making me sad. After the stresses of helping plan and taking on responsibilities as maid of honor, I thought I would be thrilled to be back to “normal” life. Taking time to get back in the groove of things at work, at home and blogging.

It has been anything but that this week! I’m not sure if it’s the fact I’m fighting a cold and feeling pretty crummy, the damp, rainy weather we had at the beginning of the week or the fact I don’t know when I’ll see my family again, but I’m definitely feeling the post wedding blues.

There was so much excitement and so many events leading up to the day, that in a blink of an eye the weekend was over. I was surrounded by my family and friends and knew almost everyone attending the wedding (except some of her husband’s friends from college) so to go from a room of over a hundred people to being alone at my apartment Sunday night, it really was a weird feeling.

I will cherish the memories for years to come! And luckily, it sounds like my sister is back into a busy schedule at work and still has a honeymoon to look forward to in January, so hopefully she isn’t feeling the post wedding blues! With having a cold, I have not felt like getting back to blogging, but did want to share a few photos.  My boyfriend is working on editing photos and I will share some of the wedding then! These few are literally the only photos I have from the whole day. I wanted to focus on being present rather than worrying about taking a bunch of photos. Anyway, have you ever felt this way after a wedding you were a part of, whether a family member or best friend?

I’m so glad the wedding was a success! I knew it would be. 🙂

I was a bit sad after my wedding was over- there was just SO MUCH planning/thought/effort that went into it, and I felt like the actual day went by wayyyy too quickly.

I’m sorry you’re feeling under the weather- get well soon!

Aw it is so sweet how happy you are for your sister. When you’ve been planning something for long and now you don’t have anything to plan anymore, it can feel a bit strange. I felt that way after our wedding, but we went on our honeymoon right away so it gave me a chance to sort of unwind and sink back into reality.

I’m so glad everything went well and I can’t wait to see the pictures!

Try having your sister AND your best friend get married 5 weeks apart! Talk about post wedding blues!!! But I am SO happy for both of them because they were both beautiful and elated to be marrying their dream guys. 🙂 Glad your sister’s day went well…you looked stunning in that IG pic!

I can COMPLETELY relate, Rachel! I went through this planning my own wedding and then again last month after my best friend’s wedding when I was the Matron of Honor. There is so much time, planning, and excitement that go into all of it, and then it’s over in the blink of an eye. I didn’t quite know what to do with myself afterwards!

Awww how sweet was this post. Yous sister is lucky to have you as her sister & Maid of Honor.Plus you ladies looked Gorgeous. Love the matching Necklaces & Earrings. Please share more photos soon.

My brother hasn’t been married yet but I always get emotional at wedding, especially if it’s close family member who get married. They are beautiful what can I say. =)

Stop by to see what I am up to lately. Have a great weekend, Ada. =)

Ahh I hate when the actual event you’ve been looking forward to flies by so quickly! But it looks like it was a stunning wedding, and you looked absolutely Gorgeous!! Hope your post-wedding blues go away soon 🙂

A wedding is such an all consuming thing, I can totally understand how you must be feeling now that its over. But I’m sure things will start to get back to normal and you will always have those wonderful memories of the day.

Awww, it sounds like it was lovely and you had the best time! I haven’t been to a lot of weddings, but I can totally understand why you’d feel the post-wedding blues. Also, sorry to hear that you’re not feeling well- hope you get better soon!

Weddings are so fun! I can't imagine how it feels to watch your sister get married (no really, I can't imagine because I'm an only child), but I'm sure it's an emotion packed moment! She looked gorgeous.
