[…] The Fair Isle Sweater – See more here […]
I have always loved Fair Isle sweaters and became completely obsessed with them when I saw Megan Fox in one a few years ago in a magazine, but had no clue where the name Fair Isle came from until I looked it up via The Google yesterday. The Google always seems to answer my questions when I become curious…
Did you know that Fair Isle is a knitting technique? (Probably, I’m just behind…) Fair Isle knitting is where stitches are knit alternately in different colors. And guess WHAT?! Fair Isle was named after Fair Isle (go figure?!?!?!), which is a small island in Scotland. Fair Isle became well-known in the 1920s when the Prince of Wales (Edward VIII) wore Fair Isle sweaters/sweater tanks to golfing events and out and about. Thank you Google for taking me to the answers. Now I know, and I apologize if the rest of you already knew this! On a final note: now I really want to go back to Scotland…

Ha ha ha, I too have a love for Fair Isle, but don’t worry, I only learned that it was a knitting technique back in the Fall when I also used ‘The Google’ to find that out. 🙂 You look adorable and so perfect for a wintery day!

Rachel, seriously I think your style is getting more stunnish everytime when I look at it. I love that fabrique mixing going on between cozyness, feminity and girlyness. And that snowy winterland adds that perfect finish touch to it 🙂
